報告簡介:

The first part of the talk will start with some general information and a brief overview on advance image based measurement techniques for aerodynamics. The potential of Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) will be described utilizing different experimental set-ups for flow control research and rotating flows. Methods to determine deformation, density gradients and transition will be explained.

The second part of the talk will present some recent applications of image based measurement techniques such as infrared and Temperature Sensitive Paint (TSP) techniques for transition detection, as well as deformation and density gradient techniques to helicopter research. At the end of the talk some further information about recommended PIV courses and reading, and about aerosolgenerators and evaluation software for PIV will be given.

       報告人簡介:

      Jürgen KOMPENHANS received his doctoral degree in physics in 1976 from theGeorg-August University of G?ttingen. From 1977 until 2011 he worked for theGerman Aerospace Center (DLR) in G?ttingen, Germany, mainly developing andapplying non-intrusive measurement techniquesfor aerodynamic research, starting with the PIV technique back in 1985. Since2001 he has been head of the Department of Experimental Methods of DLR'sInstitute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology in G?ttingen. Within thisdepartment, image based methods such as Pressure Sensitive Paint, TemperatureSensitive Paint, Particle Image Velocimetry, model deformation measurement techniques,density measurement techniques, acoustic field measurement techniques etc. aredeveloped for application as mobile systems in large industrial wind tunnelsand for in-flight testing As coordinator of several European networks he hascontributed to promote and to disseminate the use of image based measurementtechniques for industrial research. At present his interest is focused oncontributing to the development of flow meters as well as of componentsrequired for the use of the PIV technique.
