報(bào)告一:Laminar-Turbulent transition in boundary layers on wind turbine blades

摘要: Modern wind turbine blades definitely use so-called laminar airfoils for high lift-to-drag ratios necessary for high efficiency in terms of power-coefficient Cp. Nevertheless it is somewhat puzzling that this is possible because the turbulence level which correlates to N in the Tollmien-Schlichting scenario of transition is very high. We here report on recent experimental and CFD work on smaller (D = 30 m) and state-of-the art (D = 92 m) wind turbines to estimate the extension of laminar (or non-turbulent) parts within the boundary layer of a wind turbine blade.

摘要: Vortex models of rotors were introduced by Joukovsky, Prandtl and Betz in the early 20th century to have a basis for optimal design of a B-bladed rotor. This resulted in rather different approaches and consequently in different design rules. Recently renewed interest comes from work of Okulov, Segalini and others. A recent textbook of Branlard (2017) gives a summary of that.  This lecture is merely intended as a “primer” to the subject with some personal remarks and a numerical comparison of specific design rules of Burton and Joukovsky.

摘要: Examination of theoretical work and simulations heavily relies on measurements in wind tunnels in which inflow conditions can be controlled which is usually not the case in the field. We summarize our experience with a lot of wind tunnel in Europe devoted for 2D and 3D wind turbine profile and rotor measurements.

摘要: An international competition “Racing Aeolus” takes place since 2008 at den Helder, the Netherlands. Vehicles only driven by wind have to drive straight against the wind. Aerodynamic design for these vehicles differs to some extent from that of stationary wind turbines. We present the basic principles together with results measured during the races (for students, see attached poster)

報(bào)告人簡介:

Prof. Alois. P. Schaffarczyk (Dr.of Statistical physics) is a specialist in the fields of Aerodynamics of wind turbines and wind field simulation. His interests also cover fluid mechanics of non-conventional wind turbines, measurement of small-scale turbulence, Aerodynamic glove and etc.

Prof. Schaffarczyk gained his PhD degree in Statistical Physics from Univ. of Goettingen in 1986. Then he worked at Krupp Atlas Elektronik GmbH, Bremen, Germany as Research Engineer. Since 1992 Prof. Schaffarczyk had worked as Professor of Mathematics and Engineering Mechanics at Univ. of Applied Sciences in Kiel (Fachhochshule Kiel).

Prof. Schaffarczyk is also the author of “Introduction to Wind Turbine Aerodynamics”. The Chinese version of this book is now available in our University Library.

Prof. Schaffarczyk is the founder and volunteer director of CEwind e.G. (2009-2013). Since 2015, he is also the Spokesman of EEK.SH (Renewable Energy and Climate Protection Schleswig-Holstein, or Kompetenzzentrum Erneuerbare Energien und Klimaschutz Schleswig-Holstein).
