報告摘要:
Lessons learned from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the tsunami it triggered, and the ensuing severe nuclear accident are presented. The assessment is carried out in terms of natural disaster and technological risk management. The “triple disaster” of earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear meltdown caused untold human suffering and significant economic losses. The impacts of the earthquake and tsunami are assessed and tsunami evacuation strategies are discussed. Impacts on Japanese nuclear power plants are summarized and the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station disaster is examined in detail. Nuclear power regulatory regimes and disaster preparedness are investigated.
 
報告人簡介:
Dr. Liping Fang is Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering; Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs and Student Affairs, Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (2012-2017 and 2018-present); and former Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (2004 to 2012) at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. He is Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (FCAE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (FIEEE), Engineering Institute of Canada (FEIC), and Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (FCSME) as well as a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario. Dr. Fang was awarded a Monbukagakusho Kyoto University Visiting Professorship from August to November 2008 and from July to December 2017, respectively.
方黎平博士是加拿大瑞爾森大學(xué)(Ryerson University)機械和工業(yè)工程系教授。2012年7月至2017年6月及2018年7月至今擔(dān)任瑞爾森大學(xué)工程和建筑學(xué)院副院長; 2004年7月至2012年6月?lián)稳馉柹髮W(xué)機械和工業(yè)工程系系主任。方黎平博士是加拿大工程院院士 (Fellow, Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE)), 電氣和電子工程師協(xié)會會士 (Fellow, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (FIEEE)), 加拿大工程研究院院士 (Fellow, Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC)), 加拿大機械工程學(xué)會會士 (Fellow, Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering),加拿大安大略省注冊工程師。方黎平博士于2008年8月至11月, 2017年7月至12月任京都大學(xué)文部省客座教授。
